Pelvic floor health is often overlooked, yet it plays a crucial role in overall strength, balance, and well-being. If you want to build a stronger core, improve your balance, and enhance your mobility, the upcoming Discover Strength Within class series is designed just for you. Presented by Prolete Physical Therapists Marie and Helena, who are passionate pelvic floor health enthusiasts, this four-class series offers a clear path to understanding and strengthening your pelvic floor muscles.
Whether you are new to pelvic floor work or want to deepen your practice, this series will guide you through progressive exercises and movements that connect your pelvic floor with your core and balance. Here’s what you can expect from each class and why you should consider joining.

What You Will Learn in the Discover Strength Within Series
The series is structured to build your knowledge and strength step-by-step. Each class focuses on a specific aspect of pelvic floor health and its connection to your core and movement.
Class One: The Basics
The first class introduces the foundation of pelvic floor health. You will learn about the connection between the pelvic floor and the deep core muscles. The session focuses on:
Finding and activating your pelvic floor muscles
Breathing techniques that support core engagement
Exercises to build strength in various positions, from lying down to standing
This class is a progression from basic awareness to controlled activation, setting the stage for more dynamic movements in later sessions.
Class Two: Moving the Pelvic Floor
Building on the basics, the second class teaches how to brace and engage the pelvic floor during movement. Using yoga-based poses and exercises, you will learn to:
Incorporate pelvic floor activation into flowing movements
Stabilize your core while moving
Improve balance by connecting your pelvic floor and deep core muscles
This class helps you understand how to maintain control and strength during everyday activities and exercise.
Class Three: Mobility and Tension
Pelvic floor muscles need to be flexible as well as strong. The third class focuses on:
Stretching the pelvic floor and hips to improve flexibility
Releasing tension that can limit movement and cause discomfort
Ensuring muscles move through their full range of motion
Improving mobility supports better function and reduces the risk of injury or pain.
Class Four: Integration and Functional Fitness
The final class brings everything together in a functional fitness session. You will:
Practice balance exercises that encourage automatic core engagement
Combine pelvic floor activation with strength and stability work
Experience how your core “turns on” naturally before movement
This class prepares you to use your pelvic floor and core strength in daily life and physical activities.
Why Pelvic Floor Health Matters
Many people do not realize how important the pelvic floor is until they experience issues like back pain, incontinence, or poor balance. Strengthening these muscles can:
Support your spine and posture
Improve bladder and bowel control
Increase stability and reduce falls
By focusing on pelvic floor health, you invest in your long-term wellness and physical confidence.
