Assisted Yoga Stretch with Kelly Healy for Better Mobility & Pain Relief

A tight hip, stiff shoulder, or sore lower back can change the way the whole body moves.
One small restriction can make a yoga pose feel out of reach, a workout feel harder
than it should, or a simple morning routine feel uncomfortable. It can even change how
it feels to go up and down the stairs in your home.
That is exactly why Home Yoga is now offering Assisted Yoga Stretch with Kelly
Healy, a one-on-one service designed to help people move with more ease, comfort,
and confidence.
Assisted stretching alleviates muscle tension, reduces existing pain in sore muscles and
joints, aids in pain and injury prevention, enhances sports performance, and increases
mobility and longevity. “Motion is lotion,” and assisted stretching helps you to
move better and more comfortably, supporting active movement and better
quality of life.
Whether you’re a yoga student, athlete, active adult, or simply seeking greater comfort
in your body, Assisted Yoga Stretching can help improve flexibility, release tension,
reduce discomfort, and support better movement in everyday life.
This personalized experience combines supported yoga postures, hands-on assisted
stretching, and guided breathwork to help you safely move beyond what you may be
able to achieve on your own. With consistent practice, these techniques can help retrain
muscle memory, improve mobility, and create lasting gains in flexibility and physical
performance.
Yoga therapist Kelly Healy will meet you at your current level and guide each movement
with care and precision. Using therapeutic techniques and mindful breathing, Kelly will
help you explore your edge in a way that feels safe, effective, and sustainable. Each
stretch is held with intention to encourage deep release, support neuromuscular reeducation, and help you move with greater ease and confidence.
At Home Yoga, Kelly Healy works one-on-one, which means the session can be shaped
around the person in front of her. Some people need help loosening tight hips. Others
feel stuck in their shoulders, hamstrings, neck, calves, or lower back. Some come in
because their workouts have started to feel limited. Others simply want to feel better
getting up, bending down, walking, climbing stairs, or moving through a yoga class.
The goal is not to push the body into extreme shapes. The goal is to help the body
move better, with less resistance and more awareness.
One client shared:
“Kelly is amazing! I started assisted stretching with her at the studio and now I go every
week to work with her! I have made amazing progress with not only my yoga but my
strength training and barre workouts! Please take advantage of assisted yoga
stretching, you won't regret it!”

What to expect in a session with Kelly Healy
A session with Kelly is personal and guided. It is not a one-size-fits-all routine. The
focus is on what the body needs that day.
A typical session may begin with a brief check-in. Kelly may ask about areas of
tightness, current discomfort, recent workouts, yoga practice, activities, or movement
goals. From there, the session can move into supported stretches on a massage table.
The client stays involved throughout the process. Feedback matters. If something feels
too intense, Kelly can adjust. If a position feels helpful, she may give it more time. If an
area needs a different angle, the session can shift.
A good assisted stretch session should feel:
● Supported
● Respectful of the body’s limits
● Productive without being painful
● Calm enough to relax into
● Specific to the person’s needs
● Useful after the session ends
Some people notice an immediate feeling of lightness or ease. Others feel gradual
change with repeat sessions. Both are normal. The body responds differently depending
on stress, sleep, activity, hydration, previous injuries, and overall movement habits.
During the session, Kelly will invite you to compare your stretched side to your nonstretched side halfway through the session so you can feel the difference. And over
subsequent sessions, she will point out differences in your flexibility from your initial
stretch. You’ll see it and feel it too.
What to wear
Comfortable movement clothes with grip socks work best. Choose clothing that allows
the hips, shoulders, knees, and spine to move freely. Yoga clothes, workout clothes, or
soft athletic wear are usually a good fit. Grip socks (socks with the rubber dots on the bottom) are needed to support the assisted stretches and for safety. Shoes will be
removed during the stretch.
How assisted stretching supports better quality of life
Mobility affects more than workouts. It affects how someone gets out of bed, carries
groceries, kneels in the garden, sits on the floor, reaches overhead, walks the dog,
plays with kids, travels, and sleeps.
When the body feels tight, people often move less. When they move less, the body can
feel even tighter. Assisted stretching can help interrupt that cycle by making movement
feel safer and more available.
Better mobility can support daily life in simple ways:
● Turning the head more comfortably while driving
● Reaching overhead with less shoulder restriction
● Bending down with more ease
● Walking with a smoother stride
● Feeling less guarded in the low back or hips
● Enjoying yoga and fitness classes with more confidence
● Recovering more comfortably between workouts
These changes may sound small, but they add up. A body that moves more comfortably
often feels more inviting to live in. You may find yourself adding that walk on the beach
back in to your day or that weekend bicycle ride with your spouse.
Another client testimonial stated: ““I signed up for a 10-week package. I’m halfway
done with it…1x per week. And I FEEL AMAZING. My whole body can move again…
and because I’m more flexible I work out more now. I even lost a few pounds. Thanks
again, Kelly. You’re amazing.”
Give your body the support it has been asking for
Assisted stretching is not about pushing harder. It is about creating the right conditions
for the body to let go, move well, and feel supported.
